Manchester City secured their sixth Premier League title in 11 seasons on Sunday, coming from behind to defeat Aston Villa 3-2 in the final game and avoid being knocked out by Liverpool. City knew that its victory on Sunday against Aston Villa at home would seal a Premier League title for the fourth time in the past five seasons. Manchester City won the Premier League title in the most dramatic of circumstances, beating Liverpool by one point following a 3-2 victory at Aston Villa under Steven Gerrard. Manchester City won the Premier League for a second consecutive time, with City pulling off a stunning comeback to defeat Aston Villa 3-2 on the final day to spoil Liverpool’s dreams. In a thrilling last-day Premier League campaign, Man City secured the title with a late three-goal comeback win over Aston Villa. Manchester City crushed Liverpool’s four-peat dreams.

Manchester City were 90 minutes from winning the Premier League. Still, they knew that anything short of a win against Aston Villa at home would leave the opportunity for Liverpool to become champions instead. If City cannot win against Aston Villa, Liverpool would steal the Premier League title from them by winning at home to a Wolves side who are not in the same form. Below the title-chasers, the Golden Boot race also came down to the wire, with local rivals Tottenham and Arsenal fighting for a place alongside Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea in the Champions League next season. Tottenham winning on the final day means they will be in the UCL next season, and H. Son shared the Golden Boot with Salah as they both scored 23 goals in the Premier League this season.
